That’s Why I Like Summer
A friend asked me to write lyrics for his songs, and I come up with this. Though I’m not in the mood for writing (see how long this blog have been neglected by its user? LoL). Summer is my favorite subject- and will always be- so that explains why I love Johan Angergard’s songs -especially those from Club 8 and Acid House Kings- I’m becoming more and more addicted with AHK. I sing to ‘Do What You Wanna Do’ every morning for an instant mood-booster. The retro, cheerful summer sound with those clapping hands sound in the background, reminds you of a ’60s summer at the beach, and makes you wanna move your head and clap with them
You know how it’s like to wear your favorite flannel pajamas and old socks? That’s exactly how I feel about their (AHK) songs. It’s just like listening to an old friend. So familiar, and yet oh so comfy
Summer Song
Lying with my back on the grass
Looking at the summer sky
As blue as forget-me-not flowers
Counting the clouds parade
As white as fluffy marshmallows
You came to me one summer day
Asking for love nowhere to find
So we were dancing barefoot in the sand
Together with the fireflies and the stars above
The smell of sweet watermelon fills the air
Children burst out laughing, licking popsicles
We danced and laughed with the soft summer breeze
Blew the haziness out of my heart
You whispered to me one summer day
“Come with me, and I’d show you the world
right through pink-coloured bubbles
And live happily ever-after
In the castle faraway up in the sky.”
The sound of the waves sang merrily to the sea
The golden sun wrapped the warmth on the air
Suddenly I found myself danced alone
Beneath the cloudy summer sky
You left me one summer day
Looking for love nowhere to find
So I kept dancing with myself
All alone, beneath the moonlit sky
